Ellis Littles
San Francisco, CA

Role: Logo, Brand Identity, Print Collateral, Spot Illustrations, Packaging, Email and Social Media Marketing

Ellis Littles creates children’s clothing for everyday wear: elevated basics cozy enough to nap in and durable enough for play. Based in San Francisco, the company works exclusively with local small batch production partners and suppliers, with a focus on organic and sustainable materials. Collaborating with founder Katie Eulenstein, I developed a logo and visual identity to capture the brand’s warm, playful spirit while supporting its premium yet approachable positioning.

Katie came to the project with a strong creative point of view inspired by watercolor textures, classic floral prints, whimsical animal art, and a soft, cozy color palette. My initial goal was to take all of those inspirations and shape them into a single brand mark.

During the concept phase, I came across a vintage copy of Babar and immediately connected with the charm and nostalgia of the illustrations. A baby elephant quickly emerged as the perfect direction for the identity. Playful, gentle, and nostalgic in a way that felt beautifully aligned with the Ellis Littles brand.

I explored several other directions along the way, but my elephant sketches (modeled after the baby elephants at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust) were an instant favorite.

Once the logo was finalized, I expanded the visual system by creating a series of spot illustrations designed to live within the same whimsical world. These playful details helped bring the brand to life across packaging, marketing materials, and photography.

I then developed a full identity system including typography, color palette, patterns, textures, and iconography. Watercolor shapes, polka dots, ticking stripes, petite florals, and hand-lettered typefaces all work together to provide a warm, playful, and approachable feel.
