Client: Kimberly Park Communications
Founded by Grace and Leo Xia, Duck N Bao is known for bringing the bold, layered flavors of Sichuan cuisine to Texas, with standouts like Peking duck and handmade dumplings. As they prepared to open their third location, the team was ready for a brand overhaul. Working with Kimberly Park Communications, I designed a refreshed visual identity for the restaurant, including a new logo and menu system. Photos courtesy Duck N Bao.
The team at Duck N Bao had already established the restaurant as a buzzworthy destination, with vibey interiors, colorful cocktails, and bold, flavor-packed dishes. But the existing brand identity didn’t fully capture the energy of the dining experience. That’s where I stepped in.
My initial logo concepts explored a range of directions that balanced modern hospitality branding with references to traditional Chinese typography and street-market signage. Across the system, I combined expressive type, hand-drawn illustration, and bilingual elements to capture the restaurant’s bold personality.
