Luna wedding invitation suite.

I created Luna for Minted in response to their call-out for dark, romantic, Twilight-inspired designs. I'm not a Twilight devotee, but I can totally appreciate the aesthetic and jumped at the chance to design an invitation that could fit any uber-romantic, nighttime celebration under the stars. Think: poetry, New Orleans, astronomy/astrology, goth, 19th centruy science fiction, and magic.

Minted's challenge inspired a lot of fantastic Twilight-centric designs. Check out this blog post to see them all!

Happily ever after and who dat!

In the interest of taking a break from holiday designs, I thought I'd share some recent work. This post-wedding party invitation was a fun project I worked on with a New Orleans-based client who'd planned a unique way to unwind after her big day. She approached me with an interesting task: to come up with a hip, non-cheesy design combining Saints football and marriage. I was "game" (pun intended), and whipped up this invitation suite combining bold type, simple illustrations, and of course, plenty of fleur de lis. Geaux Saints!

We made a poster.

This past weekend I took part in a small group letterpress sesh at the Levi's Workshop on Valencia. Together we printed a crazy hand-set typographic poster, comprised of words, phrases, and quotes. Since it just happened to be the 5-year anniversary of the day I fled Katrina and my beloved New Orleans, I paid a li'l tribute to NOLA by printing: "How's ya mom an'em!"
